To Mark Anthony H2O is a simple compound and so it is broken down to H2O+02 because oxygen is diatomic. So you have H2O--->O2+H2O. And you balance it by making sure you have each element equal to the amount in the compound. And then you can go to the internet type in Online Balancing Equation to check your answer. I hope this helps. ChristinaK:)
Christina, I think you just made a typo. It breaks into O2 + H2. You can't have the product be the same as the reactant. For balancing, you are right you want the same number of ATOMS of each element on both sides of the arrow. We achieve this by adding coefficients (the big numbers). You can guess and check or you can use that method.
My bad H2O2 is broken down into O2+H2O so you have H2O2--->O2+H2O and then you balance it so you get 2H2O2--->O2+2H2O.you balance it by making sure you have each element equal to the amount in the compound and dont forget oxygen is diatomic. Im sorry I read it wrong.
yo michael watup listen remember you have to have the same number of the elemnt in each side of the arrow for EACH element and u do that by adding coefficents. Ite. I'll show u in class tomorrow ok my Colombian friend.
I neeeeeeed help please!
ReplyDeleteHow do I show when H2O decomposes into water and oxygen
Also how do I blanace out the equations
Thanks!
